What wonderful, wonderful news!!!!!!

Kat, I am so happy you remembered this site and were able to find a home for Cotton through persian-cats.org. Thanks for taking such good care of him and posting him! How wonderful!

Hi, everyone. My name is Cher. I am the woman that adopted Cotton.

I lost my 15 year old silver & white DLH cat last November. She was very sick -jaundice, kidney stones, liver failure, kidney failure. That left me with my 13 year old Siamese. I was looking around on the internet for another cat since I lost Crystal in November. I had even contacted purebred cat rescue in Wisconsin about adopting one of their cats. But it didn't pan out.

Somehow I found this forum. The very first time I looked at this forum I saw Kat's post about Cotton. So Kat & I e-mailed back & forth a few times. SO & I drove down to Ky to pick up Cotton. I thought I was out of my mind to drive to KY to get a cat when there are so many cats in need. BUt I did it anyway.

It has been three weeks now & I can honestly say that I am in love with Cotton. He is the sweetest & shyest cat. He is afraid of hands, feet, quick movements & loud noises. He is terrified of the broom. I can't even imagine what he went through to cause these fears. He really likes my SO. He meows a funny little "meh" sounding meow. When SO meows back Cotton goes right to him. Just tonight he was laying at SO's feet.

Cotton is more afraid of me. But I try to spend time everyday laying with him & giving him neck scritches. I was able to wipe his eyes today. He even slept with me twice last week.

I know it will take a long time for him to start forgetting. But I am patient.

Meanwhile my Siamese follows Cotton around like a love sick puppy. Cotton is still a little afraid of the Siamese, Meuie. Meuie is always trying to get Cotton to play with him. I have seen them play the stalking game several times & they have played chase. I am sure when Cotton gets to feeling a little more secure they will have fun playing together.

So I am happy to say that Cotton has found his furever home.

Oh, I forgot to add that Cotton's favorite toy is a cat dancer. We have lots of fun playing with it. But my Siamese is very jealous. Meuie has crossed eyes so it is very difficult for him to play with the cat dancer.
