Meet Henry. This scraggly, scrawny Persian was a stray. He had to be shaved because he was so matted he could not move and his muscles had lost tone. He is missing teeth, so can only eat soft food. The SPCA transferred him to the rescue shelter where I found my boys. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/QC35.html He is receiving medical care and the food and love he so much needs. Chances of recovery are good. Someday soon, I hope, he will be a beautiful cat again. He already is purring.

I don't know his history, but this is a reminder of the Persians and other cats that are there to be adopted in rescue shelters.

I'm glad the rescue got him in time.

It's so sad to see Persians in this shape. I wish it was rare. But it's not.

If he was near me, I'd have him. Poor baby. Sending prayers his way.

This poor baby. I hope he is going to be OK and will find a good permanent home. It is so sad that so many cats and especially persians are discarded. I don't know how anyone could do that.

this kitty is going to be gorgeous!!
Poor sweet baby..

I don't understand, my mind just can't comprehend what people can do to these innocent creatures. I hope he gets back to health and finds a wonderful home.

Those were my thoughts exactly, Joan. This cat, if he survives, will be stunning with those eyes and that cute little nose.

I am sure the shelter would appreciate any contributions to help with his vet bills. I have provided a link to their website in this thread's initial posting.

I checked out the rescue's web site earlier and they have so many nice cats and other animals that need homes. Makes you wonder how many discarded pets that were not fortunate enough to be rescued. I'll check back tomorrow and make a donation.
