I work at an animal hospital. I got here from there the first day I had her and she was given distemper, dewormer, felv/fiv test and an exam. Her ear canals looked normal but deafness is not something you notice right away in a cat, so it was not noticed in the exam. There is not any way for a Dr. to tell if she is deaf other than doing tests like I have done. And No you are right they cannot make her hear again. She is a great litle girl otherwise and I would not want her anyother way!
My comment about the Vet was to see if there were any deformities, infection, mites or a broken eardrum. Since the Vet has seen her this is not an issue. No you can't make her hear but she is still your little sweetie. My girl was the light of my life, once she adjusted you would not know she could'nt hear.
