Chunky Chunkerson has been having big white boogers. I woke up last night to him wheezing and snorting, so I got up and I found he was clogged with boogers. It could be allergies, PUffy's eyes were more runny today and I have a runny nose, but it could be something else. So I'm of course, worried.

Could he have a URI? He is still playing and eating and drinking. No coughing. Occasional sneezing. I think I will take him to the vet tonight. If it is a URI, I would like to get antibiotics for PPP too. Although, I think PPP will never speak to me again if I take her to the vet twice in one week. Here's the great part: we are expecting blizzard like conditions after 2pm today. So, I'll get to do my 45 minute drive home from work, grab Chunk and then do another 45 minute drive in the blizzard to the vet. Sigh...

Poor Chunkster! Big boogers and a stuffysnotty nose sound like my Winston much of the time. I'm not sure if whitish color means he's got allergies (and you and PPP too) or if he's en route to a URI. If there's going to be a bad blizzard later today maybe you could call your Vet and tell him/her about what you're seeing/hearing in PCC and seeing w/PPP and ask does it sound like allergies or URI or ? Whenever I speak to someone in my Vet's office they tell me to bring the cats in tho when I talk to the Vet he often tells me if it's something I have to bring them in for or can wait a bit.

I'd not want PCC to progress to a URI in a day or two tho I am wondering if perhaps you've got a heater on and if so what kind it is and if it's one that's in need of a cleaning or something of this nature. Generally with the heater on my cats do better re no sniffly noses or yucky snots tho once when I moved into a new place the heater actually was problematic and we all were sick because of it. Unlikely tho just thought I'd throw that into the equation. We have mostly gas heaters in older apt units/houses down here by the beach~

Good luck and hope PCC and PPP and you will all be OK and no driving in a blizzard please!!!

Put saline in his nose to make him sneeze... that is like us blowing our noses. I think it is a good idea to take him to the vet now since he is a baby and building a relationship with the vet.

My vet knows Elvis and Wed well and their nose issues ... so, if I think they need an antibiotic all I have to do is call.

Its dry as we have discussed, the heater is running, etc. I am sorry I forgot about the allergy pill name... I will try to remember to get it tonight and post for you.

Hope that Chunk and PPP are just fine... just a little nose issue. I am having those sinus issues myself!!!!!

Does Wed Wobin have nose issues too? I know that these things are usually genetic. LIke runny eyes.. Chunk doesn't seem to have as runny of eyes as Puffy, but Puffy never has boogies. What kind of saline do you mean? The same kind I would put in their eyes?

On the children's section/isle in Walgreen's you can get Little Noses... and I use this, its just best not to use it several days in a row, they also have just saline, I get the Walgreen's brand. I use it several times a day if called for. It really cleans out the nose. I have to be ready with the Viva for Elvis sometimes when he is really stuffy...knock on wood we haven't had that in quite a time. If you think Chunk is very clogged I would use the Little Noses and then follow for several days with the Saline. But, of course check with your vet if you think it is URI and not just Persian sinus issues.

Wed Wed naturally has more tears than Elvis normally.... and NO nose... Elvis has more sinus issues than Wed Wed. Elvis will sometimes have a discharge in his nose... but, I have dealt with it for so long that I just use a warm to hot cloth and wipe his face, put the saline or Little Noses in his nose and give him the allergy pill... also, if there is a lot of sneezing then I will turn on the shower full blast and sit him in there. This does really help.

Wed Wed will sneeze sometimes and the last week he has seemed to be a little stuffy... no mucas tho... I do think he has post nasal drip which makes me think it is a sinus issue.. so, I do the above. **Wed Wed has the cutest little tiny sneeze... giggle

Of course, I know what this is with them... I have taken Elvis to the vet a lot and they just say you are doing the right thing and "thanks for the tips" ... sigh When I think it is at the point for an antibiotic I will call and get one for Elvis. Wed hasn't needed one. I don't want to give them too many antibiotics as heaven forbid they may really need one and I want it to work!!!

I'm sorry you two babies are having problems. I think others here know much more about it.
I just want you to be careful driving in that snow. You are nervous enough about the two furbabies so be careful.

Just offering up my best wishes - hopefully it isn't allergies and either the saline or antibiotics will clear things up.
