And I have the bruises and scratches to prove it  Sunday she had such a messy butt I couldn't get her cleaned off so in the tub she went. I have a hose with a sprayer I use to bathe the dogs. It went something like this, put cat in tub, lift cats tail, turn on water and sprayer, spray cat's butt, try not to scream and frighten cat because she now has all ten front claws in upper arm and is in the process of doing a shredding motion :o Try to figure out how to hold panicked cat still, turn off water and dislodge cat without getting more shredded, look on cat's face says it all, this is not a good idea mom  Wrap cat in towel and try to convince her she will live while arm bleeds all over new blouse. Spend two days trying to make up to pi**ed off cat

 :? Ow, your poor arm. I know what that's like when I have to do that to my Brandy. He is SO NOT happy when I have to wash his behind when it gets yucky. I'm sure she'll forgive you soon but in the mean time, take care of your poor wounded arm  :cat: .

I'm sorry to laugh but I can see your ticked of sweetie and your bleeding arm and new blouse...

(been there too, the bleeding, not the new blouse), I usually wear a t shirt with short sleeves when "doing" poopy butts

Yes been there done that. It takes a brave soul to bathe a cat. The Only way I can do Muffins...and she is in need of a bath...I'm dreading it....is to get in with her...and that means no protection. She sits in my lap and it seems to calm her...but sometimes she decides to bring out the claws and try to climb me to get further from the water. Those are bad days.

Give Sparky a bath  I am not that brave, or stupid, this was just a quick rinse the hiney deal, I thought no big deal, in and out, wrong  I usually put a little water in the bathroom sink and sit her in and swish the water then out she comes, so fast she doesn't have time to react, but I thought hmmmm, the sprayer should do a quick, good job, bad idea :!:
I am laughing about it too and actually the arm doesn't hurt, I don't even think about it unless someone asks what happened.

Jen you get in the bath with Muffins  now that is brave, I would hate to have to explain those scratches

Haha...yeah...thankfully I have never been terribly injured during a bath. The worst I can think of is the last bath I gave her she stuck her claw into my left shoulder and got it stuck there...those are the worst..when they get stuck on you. OMG. Trying to get her unstuck while making sure she doesnt start flipping out with her other 3 death paws. I had a huge bruise there.

The worst she ever got me I was just sitting in bed in the morning, she was sitting on my pillow behind me...and for no particular reason that I could see...she launched herself into the air and attached herself to my back with all 4 paws. What the heck. That was the only time in her life that she has REALLY been yelled at. LOL.

I can't take her to a groomer anymore after what happened with the claw being ripped out....I just don't think either one of us could handle the stress of that again.

Wow ouch! What the heck is it that when we are trying to help them though they completely trust us any other time, this is the time they think we are trying to kill them????!!!! I'm glad Sparky survived and I hope your arm is ok. Make sure you take care of it though, them scratches can get nasty. As much as we love our kitties, scratches and bites can be the worst from cats.

Arm is fine, like Jengst said what happened is she got stuck, that is what caused the bruising, plus I bruise real easy, so yea it is ugly but already healing. I am lucky cat scratches and bites don't bother me. I think it was the shock of the wet spray hitting her nether regions that got her in the air, litterly, mom was having a brain cramp when she tryed that
