We just hit yet another 101 degree day yesterday. Happy Friday!!!! :D :D :D :D :D Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Weekend!

We are all eating these freezer pops of different flavors. My son loves them and has me eating them now.
My favorite is pinacolada and his is the lime! You can eat about three of those in one sitting and the icee makes you cool instantly. They are light not fattening. They are pretty inexpensive, too, for how many you get. But we always eat the best flavors first. Fun to share with him on the porch swing and laugh and count how many birds are on the wire and what the cloud shapes look like. We were thinking back when he was little when I taught him how some math by watching how many birds flew on and off the wire (electrical wire from pole to pole)!

I laughed when Joan said it was going to be a long week for me because my days were off when I posted back to Karyn! She was right! My days must have been off. You know that I am not looking at a schedule right now from day to day unlike the school year? And that proves it I guess.   Summer time is lazy days (well as lazy as you can be...there are chores to be done, responsibilities, etc.), sunshine and swimming!

Couldn't have picked a better summer to get the pool. It has been sunny every day just about! Swimming has been great! We need rain though...I have given up on my flowers but the Rose of Sharon trees have been blooming all summer as they love the heat! They are pretty all around the fence of the pool. We have purple ones, and white ones.

And I love to spend time outside when it is cool in the morning too though. So far, besides that peacock that visited us, we have seen at our place turkeys (baby turkeys too), deer, my husband saw a snake :o (eeeeeew, glad I didn't see it), hummingbirds, goldfinches, purple martin birds (great mosquito eaters).

Savannah likes to watch the "wildlife" from the window and enjoys her cat stand. Shelley isn't into the heat and has been hogging the air conditioner vent!!!

What have you been up to for summer fun?

Hope you have a Happy Friday!

Well this weekend is going to be very busy. We decided to have a barbeque for Jim's sisters and spouses, first time in 48 yrs :!: So of course everything, including cats and dogs , has to be perfect  I should've done it years ago, this is a lot of work ;) Oh well, and the neighbors may decide to sign a petition asking us to move, or at least not have this group back. They tend to get a little loud, the more drinks the louder. Maybe I will take them downstairs to play pood and watch movies ;) They are nice people and fun but we live in a very quiet area, let the good times roll

LOL @ asking to move!!!  I know what you mean about everything being perfect and all  . They say you don't clean and get things perfect until you invite someone over! Time flies and the summer gets away from us and doing something like that now is great! LOL @ drinks and it getting louder. A movie and playing pool will be a good idea too.

So it is time for cats and dogs to get a bath then? :cat: *woof* Have a great time and once you get the house in order, you will love it and the challenge is keeping it that way. :?

We had my sister-n-law and our niece over to swim and everything was as perfect as it could be (minus the dust bunnies under the rug  ) and now the house looks like a tornado came ripping through here  ! So, I think inviting someone over again soon would be a good idea because that is the only that motivates me to get things back in their place :flower: . Have fun and let us know how things turn out! Enjoy yourself too! HAPPY FURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't even notice in your post the first time through, you got a pool. Awesome, I would love a pool even tho I am terrified of wate :? Jim whines about the water bill now, boy that would give him heart failure. I too enjoy going out when it is cool so out I go to do yard work, have a great day :D

Happy Furday! :D

I remember making Koolaid popcycles, or at least I suppose that's what we put in them. That was like 100 years ago, so I don't remember exactly. :?

It's getting to be monsoon season here, and we're getting lots of afternoon thunderstorms. Maybe my lawn will start looking less brown soon.

Yes, finally, it has been really nice twokatz! The water was expensive  . It went up in price bigtime but I had to do it this year. We had it delivered by a huge water truck! It's alot of water. We are on well water here so no way we could have filled it up. If it evaporates a little, we will fill it up a tad to the screws of the filter square thing once in a while. I like the well water as we do not have water bills each month or anything. I usually do yard work too, and have notice the crabgrass growing and the grass not! Why do weeds grow and the grass doesn't when we don't get enough water? It is crazy! :?: :? Our monkey grass looks awesome 8-) this year! That was hard to establish and no rain isn't phasing it one bit. So glad. Need to get those plants that don't need constant watering. Especially nice this year due to the hot temps and no rain.

Kool Aid popsicles! I remember those homemade ones from tupperware my mom used to make! LOL @ 100 years ago! We did that is kids too. WE really liked them. They had those plastic rigs at the bottom so you could hold them and they were kinda small. Now I think they even make them with a straw coming out of them and alot bigger! I used to like Mr. Snow Cone!!! :P Remember that? :?:

Debby, I know about the lawn...our grass is so brown  ! It looks scorched. A monsoon packs some wind right? :?: So stay safe during that for sure. :!: Afternoon time is best so you can enjoy the day early on. I like night time showers but sometimes those thunder booms are scary! Savannah and Shelley will stay close to me at night and feel safer with me ( or they are trying to protect me one of the two!)!

Cara, ours must have been Tupperware too, because that sounds exactly the same! We had one of those snow cone things too. You put ice cubes in and ground them up. That was fun. :)

Yes, morning is the best time for doing things outside. We get the thunderstorms in the afternoon (or if not it's just hot). A nice little shower clears the air nicely and then the evening is very pleasant.
