POINTS... NOT PINTS... giggle but he certainly would NOT get those either
No pints OR points!
Well, now that I have my pet's records, yet
another area of doubt has popped up for me.

Sheesh!
Reading through all this was kind of a trip down memory lane.

All the different things I've brought them in for over ten years - going back to when my cats were just tiny kittens, and Percy was just a young dog of 4.
And then I came across the last visit for Basil.. just a couple of months ago. This one raised an eyebrow.
This was for sugery to remove a suspected polyp from his ear.
I asked if none was found, that a teeth cleaning be done, since he'd be under anaethesia.
The result - no polyp needing surgery, teeth cleaning done.
But on this record, the vet covers the details, and notes "tartar chipped off teeth".
My understanding is that chipping tartar and scaling of the teeth are two different things entirely, scaling much more comprehensive. (and priced accordingly)
All the other pet dentals list "scaling", including Basil's previous one of about 3 years ago.
Maybe a complete scaling wasnt deemed necessary, but if that's so, that's news to me.
I only know the bill was well over $600 ( aside from the blood work).. including the basic charge listed for scaling - $300.
Was this charge warranted?
If the complete procedure wasnt done... I'd say no.
I certainly would have questioned this discrepancy if I'd known this... but who sees their pet's records?
We go by the invoice only. Basil's teeth looked good to me
On the other hand, if this was deceptive,he could have just "written in" scaling was done.. how would I know the difference?
Maybe it was a mistake he made in his entry, or in the billing, or maybe this charge
was a valid one for the time spent on chipping.. dont know.
It just raised just another question mark for me in our past vet/client relationship.....in a whole new direction.

.
But not going to worry about it now, since we are done anyway.
