I really hope I'm not taxing your patience or indulgence too far, friends. :flower:
I've covered this here before, I know, the anniversary of my son Kevin's passing.

It's an emotional time for me yes, always will be so. But my motives in posting are not to seek your sympathy,( though I know you sympathize)
Most of you have also suffered profound sad losses of your own n your lives; beloved family members, or dear and close friends. :flower:
Many are far more recent ones too; the pain so new for you still :( I've had the benefit that time grants us in healng our hearts and finding our peace.

The loss of a child of any age is something that a parent can never fully recover from, I've come to realize. I look at my husband, he seems slightly "broken".. a kind of weariness I see. It makes my heart sad. :(
But we've both found a peace and acceptance the best that we are able to.....just as we all do

I'm so thankful for my blessings of family; and all family is forever, those that are here with us, and those who watch over us from above.
So, it's not about that aspect at all...

I just always feel a strong urge at this time of year for my son's life to be remembered. It's a bit hard to explain....
As he had no wife or children.,one of my saddest thoughts is that as time goes on, Kevin will be forgotten; relegated to a name and dates on a headstone.
Unless you made a mark in life through fame of some type, I suppose this is a natural and unavoidable course of events for all of us eventually; the way of the world as it marches on.

For his family, Kevin will always be sadly missed and lovingly remembered as long as we are here.
To share a tiny share a tiny part of him with others also just bring me good feelings.. a type of reaffirming that he was here... if that makes sense..

On this anniverary date that always weighs down my heart, I'll follow my usual traditions that bring me comfort. :flower:
I wrote a poem for my son, something I've been unable to do in the past, and will read it to him tomorrow at the cemetery; my feelings from my heart
I dont want to overload you with such weighty things, so wont post it here... but do have a short clip of pictures that I'd be honoured if you'd view again for me. ( most of you have seen these before)

I like to think of when we are eventually reunited with all our loved ones gone before us as a wonderful new awakening.. such a peaceful and comforting thought.
:flower:  :flower:

Fran, as always you have taken me to a better place . I have not the words to tell you all I feel . The poem is perfect, and I am sitting here with tears in my eyes, but my heart is so full of happiness and sadness as your poem and slide show shows the love between you and your son. A deep , compassionate love, filled with happiness and togetherness. His eyes glow with love for you and his family. The butterfly in the end was perfect, to me it was him, flying and soaring in great beauty with our Lord. The song, one of my favorites. my dad use to play it on his trumpeet.. Fran, you have not only kept his memory alive and healthy but paid a heart endearing tribute to him. If only I can love my children a third as much as you have. Fran, what a lovely family, and look at you so young and vibrant as you are today.. Fran, you could do not better than you have done with this tribute. May I ask permission to send it to my neighbor who lost thier son three years ago in the same way, this may ease thier sorrow and show them a way to pay tribute to him. thank you for sharing this, Pat

Fran, what a beautiful tribute to your beautiful son. These are the things you must do to keep him in your heart and in the thoughts of others. I think it is wonderful that you have a place, like this, to share your thoughts.
I can only understand a little of your feelings when my goddaughter(cousin) goes through the same thoughts every May. Her beautiful 13 year old daughter was killed in an ATV accident while at am 8th grade graduation party five years ago. Every year she would call me crying (her mother passed away and I have kind of taken her place) and had a horrible time dealing with the entire thing.Since then she has built a "Kimber Lane" in their yard surrounded by flowers and this year friends came lighting candles, ect. It was a good thing for all of them.
You have made a beautiful memorial to your beloved Kevin and I am glad you have shared it with us.

My dear friend.

I have not forgotten you beloved. What a beautiful tribute you have made for him. I know that tomorrow will be difficult for you and your family but when you look at this video, you cannot help but smile through the tears at his sweet face and the love that you shared. My heart was touched by this tribute to your son.

I remember when this happened and you and I both prayed that you would get a miracle like I did but God chose to take your dear son to a better place. A place where there is no more hurt, pain or depression. A peaceful and beautiful place for him to wait until the day that you will be together again. He will always be present in your thoughts and in your heart.

May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.

Arlene

Fran I am not good at words at times like this. What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful young man. I am so sorry for your loss, no can truly understand this kind of loss and pain unless they have been there. I pray you will find the peace and remember the love and joy tomorrow and celebrate his life. Hugs to you my friend, and my condolonce to your family and you.
