I'm a true Newbie...

to both this forum and Persian cats.

I live in the Cleveland, Ohio area. We have 2 cats (16 and 13 yrs, both rescued as kittens) and a blue & gold macaw. Getting another cat was not in the near future. But some higher power had other plans! We had workers installing our new driveway so my car was parked on the street, locked. One morning they knocked on my door and said, "There are noises coming from your car!" There was nothing underneath, so I popped the hood, and there was this frightened, meowing adult Persian on my engine block!!!

He didn't try to bolt, so I picked him up and put him in my laundry room. He was in great shape - no mats, clean fur, not skinny, VERY friendly. I know most of the indoor/outdoor cats in the neighborhood and he wasn't one of them. No collar. Took him to the vet, no microchip, healthy, neutered, not declawed, about 3 years old. Called the local police stations, no record of a missing cat that fit his description. Unsure what to do, we kept him in the laundry room for the night - and he started to cry. My husband went in there and FELL IN LOVE!!!!!

I wish I knew how to post a pic (I'll figure it out eventually) but he's a black cameo. His name is Tibet.

Welcome to you and welcome to Tibet. He's a lucky kitty to have found you so soon. Persians don't do well "in the wild".

Store your photos on a website like Photobucket and it is relatively easy to post them here.

Oh what a rescue story! I love his name...Tibet;) Being a Buddhist, I almost named mine that but it's a male's name for sure and happy to see it here no matter. Saw his photo, very handsome.
How great of you to take him in, I know Persians don't do well outside.
This is a great forum for sharing our stories, photos(we want more) and getting fabulous advice. Personally I have asked lots 'o questions and great responses everytime.
