I appreciate the concern about her being found and not...stolen... from someone else. She most certainly was rescued. She, her siblings and mother were locked in a dog crate and left behind. A nice woman found her and posted a pic of Cira and her siblings at my vet. I was looking for a new kitten and saw her picture and fell in love! The woman who rescued her was very concerned about all of the rescued kitties finding proper homes (she already owned 3 herself and couldn't keep them all), so was ecstatic when we said we wanted to keep her! People can be so cruel! How could someone leave a box of kitties on the side of the road!
[The old-timers have heard this story alot, so please excuse me.] My two were found under a staircase in February in Montreal (usually our coldest month). Many of our staircases here are open affairs, providing little shelter. They were so matted that they could not move, placed in a laundry basket, which I am told was bound up with duct tape. They were maybe a year old. Yup, you cannot underestimate how cruel people can be. Thanks goodness Cira was lucky enough to be found by a caring person and adopted into a loving home. So many are not.
