Tomorrow I am packing some things and me and Jasee are going to the shore for a 4 day vacation. My mom has a house at the beach, she wont be there though, it is just going to be me and Jasee. I felt like I needed to be alone and do some soul searching. I want to take the time to sit by the ocean and grieve the loss of my relationship one last time and to begin to pick up the pieces and move forward. This is long overdue and for me a big step in realizing that the person I was with will never come back a changed man. Though I am still searching for support groups and the therapist I called didn't call me back, I am going to try some therapy of my own by going away somewhere quiet and beautiful. I hope Jasee is ok with the ride, it's about 1 1/2 hrs away, and I hope he doesn't hide in the carrier the whole time at the house. The place is quite small and has my moms scent there so hopefully he will be ok. I need him there and wouldn't want to leave him alone for 4 days either. So, me, Jase, some books and magazines, the beach, a grill, and some nighttime TV, and hopefully I can resolve some issues inside and begin to move forward to a better place in my life.

Hi Karyn as you can see like 4 of the 5 views (next to your post before you click on your post) was me trying to get in!! Ugh! I was having problems posting to the persian site but it seems resolved now. I hope everyone can see your post okay finally too?! I wonder if anyone else is having problems today?

I think that is going to be great and have a safe trip ! This has been a great summer and getting out in it is always theraputic for sure. Jasee going with you will be good-it is so great to have them there with you .

I just took Shelley to my father-n-law's campground and it was during the week not as many people and pretty laid back there. It is different at the river there as opposed to the beach and all. That river gets kinda crowded with the trailors and all and everyone and I mean EVERYONE usually brings their dogs and Shelley is a barky girl. So the during the week trip helped me having the dog with me. But I couldn't take Savannah. I missed her. Even though it was just not even for the whole day, I missed her! Having them with you is the best. It isn't that too long of a trip really.

I was wondering if your mom had a radio there ,,,,,youc could lowly turn it on and play the radio for Jasee. That is what I did for Shelley when I would take her recently and it worked out for her. ChaCha always liked the radio as I think it keeps them company.

Also, I would take my shirt or sweater top that I had on and put it on the couch or bed (or you can even put something like that that you wear all the time) in the carrier if Jasee lays in there) while you are gone. This way, you are nearby without being there and they can have your scent there and not feel like you are gone.

Jasee will feel comfortable if you relax about it with him. They pick up on your emotions and I know if you talk with him on the way and play the radio lightly, he will enjoy the ride over. Maybe even sleep on the way. Don't forget to pack cat toys!

this will be great for you. I envy you , take your time, sit back and relax, put the world behind you for four days, enjoy Jasee and have some down time and fun.. remember when you get back , make a list most important to least and do it one at a time. have a wonderful trip Pat

I'm sure he will be fine once he has a chance to settle in....and you will
be there with him with no others around to stress him out..he'll be ok..

A quiet time of reflection is exactly what you need, try something uplifting
to read, or simply mind mush, nothing wrong with that.

Jascee will be a big help too.

it is a good idea to go away from the routine and spend some time with yourself and your beloved Jassee. The sea is so relaxing and eternal, it puts us into perspective....
